Maligne Canyon Quick Tour

The canyon begins to open up.

where the canyon is still rather shallowOne hundred yards further the eroding effects start to become obvious.

The fencing is a very good idea.

Until its construction several years ago over aggressive photographers would tend to fall into the canyon.

Another seventy-five yards along and the canyon is noticeably deepening. In the background you may be able to see trees that have fallen over and become suspended above the torrent.

That little bit of pale blue is the muchmuch deeper canyon diminished Maligne River. Its level is constantly changing as is passes in and out of the system of caves and tunnels that make up the Maligne River watershed.
